## Pre-session checks

- Confirm the participant has the meeting link.
- Confirm device, browser and connection assumptions.
- Offer accessibility adjustments.
- Provide joining instructions in plain English.

## Researcher setup

- Test audio, video, screenshare and recording.
- Prepare backup contact details.
- Keep the discussion guide and consent record accessible.
- Confirm observers understand conduct expectations.

## During the session

- Reconfirm consent.
- Explain recording and note-taking.
- Check comfort and understanding.
- Pause or stop if the participant becomes distressed.

## After the session

- Save notes in the agreed location.
- Record safeguarding or follow-up actions.
- Debrief with the team where needed.
